The New Jersey Prevention Network, Inc. (NJPN) provides a statewide coordinated approach to advocacy, collaboration and education to promote wellness and to keep individuals, families and communities healthy and safe. NJPN member agencies provide quality alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention and early intervention services to individuals, families, schools, communities, businesses and professionals throughout the state.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), was established by an act of Congress in 1992 under Public Law 102-321. With the stroke of a pen, an agency, separate and distinct from the National Institutes of Health or any other agency within the HHS, was created to focus attention, programs, and funding on improving the lives of people with or at risk for mental and substance abuse disorders.
The Southwest Council is a private, non-profit health agency which provides prevention and education services to the counties of Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester. The Southwest Council is a member of the New Jersey Prevention Network, a state-wide corporation linking prevention services throughout the entire state of New Jersey. |
